Well, let's see. I love exploring the word, I revel in creation and ideas, I'm very affectionate, I'm a complete dork, and I live to share all aspects of being with those interested.

I'm very introspective, and I spend a lot of time searching for meaning and truth, even though I rarely find them. I have to admit I'm a space cadet; I live with my head up in the clouds. I can come off as absent-minded and quiet, because I'm always thinking; I live in my absurd fantasies, my coolly logical observations, and my passionate causes as much as I live in the real world.

I have two main ideals; art and love.

I seek to create. I define "art' as being that which beautiful and inspires beauty. Writing, visual art, and cooking are where I particularly like to create. I dabble in mediums, because the canvas is unimportant to me, even the final result is unimportant to me; for me, formulating ideas and attempting to make them manifest in reality is the important part, whether I succeed or fail (though of course I prefer to succeed!).

And love? Well, despite my apparent jaded cynicism, I love the world and seek to make it a better place, and all I really want in return is love and companionship.

Okay, now that I've bored you with some of my patented abstract ramblings, let's dig on down...

I can come off as quiet and shy, because I'd much rather listen than talk to start with. Sometimes it makes me come off as disinterested, but it's just the opposite; sometimes I hate to participate because I feel I'm getting in the way of my observations!

Once I do start talking, especially in person, I'm very sarcastic and cynical. I like to make wry comments, and I like to joke, so if I say something that sounds mean in a playful tone, I don't mean it, so don't get offended. Besides, I make fun of myself as much as I do anyone else, and I encourage other people to do so as well!

Despite coming off as very reserved, I'm also very affectionate. I love to hug, hold hands, cuddle... yes, yes, nancyboy fag comments out of the way now please.

I have all manners of dorky interests. I love video games! I love Magic: The Gathering. I love Dungeons and Dragons. I love the internet and all of it's horriblewonderfulness.

I love linguistics, writing, and reading. I'm an english major and aspiring teacher, I'm an aspiring writer. Even though I hold emotion and abstract though to the highest values, I'm a very cerebral person and also highly value logic. I love learning new things; and here's a secret, as much as math bores me in theory, I even enjoy that too once I actually force myself to do it.

I love animals; even during my most bitter, awful moods I'll break a smile for animals. All animals! I'm a strong believer that all life ought to be treated with dignity and respect. I've been a vegetarian since I was fourteen. I'm very big into environmentalism and conservatism. Now I say these things proudly but please don't take me for one of those crazy PETA types that pours pig's blood on people or something. Nor am I some kind of back-to-the-earth naturalist that thinks we ought to live in mud huts. I just think progress ought to proceed responsibly to the environment.

I enjoy my established routines, and I enjoy mercilessly breaking from them even more. I trying new things, and I love experiencing life. I love to travel; if I had an infinite supply of money, I would take years to travel constantly, and to learn about and experience as much of the world as I could.

I love indulging my senses! I love to sit in the sun, I love to walk through the rain, I love cooking, I love eating.

Religion! I looooove my Eris. Okay, so what that means is that I'm an atheist, who has chosen to embrace Eris as a metaphor for the wonderful silliness of life, and the idea that even though there is no god and we are alone in a vast uncaring universe, that's no reason not to have fun, or be creative, or be empathic and loving.

Now, as lovely and wonderful as I may have made myself sound, I must warn you; no matter how much of a terrible person you think I am, I'm probably worse than that :).

I have been spending a lot of time hiking lately. I buy more books then I can read. I calculated it out and at my normal rate, it will take 2 1/2 years to work through my Netflix queue. I love having a good conversation with someone, but I don't like talking to people over the phone for long periods of time. I don't write as many letters as I should. I have a wide taste in music, but my new band awareness rate is slowing to a trickle. I spend a lot of weekends helping my friends work on their houses, but dread doing work on mine.

I love to travel and when I get there to drive around aimlessly, really getting the feel of a new place. I hate wearing bike helmets, enjoy skiing, and am at times an adrenaline junkie. That being said, most of my job these days seems revolve around worker safety. I love getting out in big crowds and soaking up the energy of a street festival, but quiet time to recharge is just as essential. I like animals, but don't spend enough time home right now to properly take care of a pet. Hey there!!! I'm a very adventurous, fun-loving, outgoing and sporty girl. I once was considered to be a tomboy of sorts, and probably still am today. However I do have a girly-girl side to me as well. I like sports (playing, watching, fantasy teams, ect), dancing, swimming, being outdoors, camping, reading, enjoy time with my family and friends, kareoke, music, movies and so much more. After being on this site for sometime I have come to a few conclusions. The first being that I am addicted to the forums. I am not sure why. I'm not a fan of traditional gender roles. I don't think women should change their name when they get married for example. But then again I'm personally not very interested in marriage. what is it that drives us to summerize ourselves in little boxes? when did this become the means to an end? is anyone else totally lost?
we advertise ourselves online for people to window shop for the perfect mate, friend, or whatever. what good does it do? at the end of the day no one can describe themselves in a way that is completely honest. we all see ourselves as what we wanna be rather than what we are, to one degree or another. it is false hope, contributing to the idea that everyone will have a happy ending. but i will let you in on a little secret......there is no such thing as happy endings. the idea that one could be happy about something ending makes no sense. i spent so much time trying to figure this out, and it finally hit me. before you can be happy with someone you have to be happy with yourself. believe me when i tell you this is no easy task, especially when most of your life has seemed to revolve around making others unhappy. whether it be intentional or not. i found a higher power that exsists inside an idea, not a book. live in the moment and for the moment, because everything ends. no matter how hard you try to keep it from ending it will end. once this is realized there is so much freedom one can find in happy moments, rather than happy endings.

Well I am a semi-stereotypical anime/computer geek, though I like to think I have many of the good/neutral traits and few of the bad hehe (wishful thinking I know). I'm pretty shy with people I don't know but get to know me and I am fairly outgoing and talkative. I go with the flow a lot of the time, not one to raise a fuss over what game is played at a LAN or such things. That's all I can think of really thats not covered in other sections, feel free to help me make this better by sending suggestions.

Well let's see. I don't know how much to share right away, but I don't want to lie either. I'm a smart, perceptive guy who likes to be around people, make new friends, and have fun making jokes and light-hearted banter. One on one, I like to get to know the depths of people because most of them have things they would really like to discuss, make known, get of their chest, etc. So I like to listen to those things and help, if I can. Sometimes you just need to listen, too, and I realize that. Most of the people around me are very intelligent, but I admire people who are emotionally intelligent more than book smart. Not everything I do is intellectual or intense, however. Far from it. When I think of something original to say I will post it. Fot now this song will do. It is one of my favorites and sums up how I feel about myself and the world around me right now.

Something me-
I am simple and complex, funny and serious, easy going and anxious,spontaneous and nervous,excited and laid-back. I am so many different things that it's sometimes hard for me to describe myself. i always sound like a walking contradiction. Maybe I'm just a true Gemini. I am just as easily entertained reading a book as I am going to a party. i don't go out as much as I used to, but when I do it's to a concert or karaoke bar.
